Sautéed asparagus
This asparagus is not stringy or tough like it comes out after boiling. Sautéing brings out its flavor beautifully.
Serves 4
Ingredients Directions
1 Lb asparagus
Large frying pan
1/2 Tbsp butter or margarine
1/2 Tbsp oil
salt and pepper to taste
pinch of garlic powder
1/2 tsp lemon juice
Cut the ends off asparagus and wash it.
Set the pan on high on top of the stove.
Melt butter and oil until bubbly.
Add asparagus (all lined up in the same direction) and sauté on high stirring occasionally until very lightly browned (about 5 minutes).
Sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Stir.
Sauté another couple of minutes, stirring until browned.
Add drops of lemon juice. Stir. Off heat.
