Horse Radish Mashed Potatoes
I first had horse radish mashed potatoes in a steak house in Philadelphia. It sounded very odd, but the waiter assured us that these mashed potatoes were too good not to try. Even people who don't like horse radish like this dish. The horse radish adds flavor and just a little kick to mashed potatoes to create an unforgettable combination.
Serves 8
Ingredients Directions
4 Lb red-skinned potatoes
2 tsp salt
Peel and quarter potatoes.
Put them in a pot, pour in cold water to come just above the potatoes. Add salt, stir, and cover.
Set on high heat on top of the stove. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to med-low. Move the cover a little to the side to vent. Boil for 15-20 minutes until potatoes are very tender when pierced with a knife.
Drain in a colander, and return to the pot.

Potato masher
3/4 stick butter
3/4 cup sour cream
2 tsp horse radish
2 Tbsp chopped dill (optional)
Add butter and start mashing potatoes.
When they get pretty smooth, add sour cream and horse radish.
Mash until smooth and creamy.
Add dill and mix well with a wooden spoon.
