1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 sliced yellow onions
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp sugar

Heat butter and oil on medium heat in a large frying pan. Add the onions, salt and sugar and sauté stirring often until the onions are golden brown, 8-10 minutes. Remove to a bowl and set aside.

1 egg lightly beaten
1 cup whole grain buckwheat
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups water
|
Mix egg and buckwheat in a bowl and stir until all the grains are
coated.
Set the pan where onions were cooked over high heat. Pour in the
buckwheat and stir constantly for 2-4 minutes or until the grains
dry, brown, and separate.
Add water and salt. Stir to mix. Bring to a simmer.
Cover. Reduce heat to low. Cook 10-15 minutes or until all the
water is absorbed and buckwheat is tender.

8 oz bowtie pasta
|
While buckwheat it cooking, cook the pasta in another pot according to the package instructions.
|
|
|
3 Tbsp butter
|
Mix buckwheat, pasta, onions, and butter. Serve.
